ASSISTANT FARM MANAGER 

Job Type: Full-Time 

Location: Wallace, NE 

Compensation: $60,000 to $75,000, based on experience 

Timing: as soon as possible 

SUMMARY OF JOB 

Provide overall hands on and supervisory support to the Farm Manager and team members, ensuring all aspects of our Belltown Farms operations are executed to the highest of standards, productively and safely. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS  

• Assume farm manager duties when the farm manager is absent. 
• Safely and effectively operate farm equipment used inorganic grain crop production, including but not limited to large tractors, combines, tillage machinery, planting equipment, and cultivation equipment. 
• Able to handle routine maintenance and general repairs.  
• Load and unload grain storage, seed, and equipment as needed. 
• Accurately document grain shipments as per company protocols. 
• Support Farm Manager with daily team organization. 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE MUCH OF THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE 

• 2-4 years farming or land maintenance work  
• Organic farming experience  
• Row crop and small grain production experience 
• Basic understanding of grain bin operations and grain conditioning  
• Regenerative agriculture mindset  
• Understanding of Precision Ag systems on equipment

REQUIREMENTS 

• Ability to work additional hours during growing seasons 
• Valid Driver’s License; clean driving record  
• DOT Physical (upon hire) and pass background checks 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS  

• CDL preferred but not required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS  

• Working outdoors and walking on uneven terrain 
• Ability to work in dusty conditions 
• Ability to sit, climb and balance as well as bend and kneel frequently 

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds or more occasionally. Twisting with weight as needed.  
• Manual dexterity, coordination and constant movement and use of limbs required.
