FIELD AGRONOMY POSITION

Belltown Farms Field Agronomists are responsible for providing professional and technical assistance to Belltown Farms production team, using regenerative organic practices.

This job requires strong problem-solving skills, with a technical orientation in organic production and regenerative farming practices. This job demands knowledge, requires detailed information, hands-on involvement, careful follow-up, and ability to guide production personnel.

Location: Company is headquartered in Chestnut Hill, PA (Philadelphia)
Compensation: Salary range $60-80K based on experience
Timing: start as soon as possible

Major Areas of Accountability:
• Nutrient Management Planning and application guidelines
• Establish nutrient budgets
• Write and submit plans to meet regulatory standards
• Work with local retailers to source and recommend soil amendments and fertilizers
• Source organic seeds for optimal performance in each growing region
• Recommend irrigation practices
• Implement organic IPM protocols
• Manage field scouts and soil sampling
• Scout crops and provide in season recommendations
• Analyze soil and yield data to make on farm recommendations
• Work with partner organizations in reporting on farm regenerative impacts
• Provide detailed in season reports on crop progress
• Work with partner organizations to institute conservation practices on farms

The position will require regional travel in southwest Michigan and northwest Illinois and periodic travel to Nebraska and Texas.

Education, Training, and Experience Requirements:
• Minimum formal education required: A., B.S. in Agronomy, Soil Science, or other related.
• Specialized Training requirements: CCA (Certified Crop Advisor) is an asset but not required.
