Irrigation Specialist

Location: Hastings, Nebraska
Timing: September 2023

THE ROLE WILL INCLUDE:
Belltown is recruiting an irrigation specialist for its Holstein Farm in Hastings, Nebraska. As an irrigation
specialist, you will oversee the operations of the 55 pivots over 9,000 acres on one of Belltown’s largest
farms in Nebraska.
• Implementing the irrigation program supplied by the Farm Manager or the Foreman
• Daily advising the Farm Manager or the Foreman of completed irrigation vs planned
operations.
• Reporting the status of the center pivot irrigation equipment at the end of every shift.
• Maintain irrigation equipment, repairing as needed and alerting the farm manager or the
foreman of major malfunctions
• Assess crop water use, anticipate water needs, and implement irrigations
• Maintaining a high standard of Health and Safety within the working environment
• Perform winter preventative maintenance of irrigation systems
• Work with the farm management to accurately report water usage
• Take on other tasks and responsibilities, as needed
The role will report to the Farm Foreman.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE MUCH OF THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE:
• Knowledge of power and control circuits
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs required
• Experience working with farm equipment and crop production
• Experience with irrigation software like AgSense and operating Centre Pivots
• Reliable, detail-oriented individual
• Must be able to pass a background check and hold a valid driver’s license
• Preferred, coursework in Irrigation Systems Technology or electrical/electronics
