Job Summary:
Belltown Farms is seeking an Agronomist to service our Nebraska farm locations in Holstein, Dickens, and Wauneta. This position involves frequent field visits, crop scouting, soil sampling, and the development of nutrient management plans to optimize organic and regenerative farming practices.
Key Responsibilities:
– Conduct weekly field visits across farm locations in Holstein, Wallace, and Wauneta
– Perform in-season crop scouting and provide weekly reports on insect, weed, nutrient, and moisture stress
– Collect and analyze soil samples in the fall and spring
– Develop nutrient management plans based on soil sample analysis
– Manage crop trials and hybrid evaluations
– Provide accurate yield estimates
– Oversee the creation of prescription planting maps
– Supervise watering programs and variable rate applications
– Prepare end-of-year yield analysis and learning summaries
Qualifications:
– Degree in Agronomy, Crop & Soil Science, or equivalent experience
– Valid driver’s license with the ability to pass vehicle insurance verification
– Passion for regenerative and organic production systems
– Strong communication skills
– Willingness to learn and experiment with new agricultural practices and technologies
– Experience operating farm equipment (preferred)

Physical Demands:
